Through personal experiences, he has realised that for businesses to succeed they must first survive – a task that is easier said than done.

In 1995, Gavin’s small business failed and he stood outside his house with his wife and children, watching as their family home was sold to pay creditors. Like thousands of others in that position, he felt helpless and alone. Gavin realised his disaster was due to his limited business education. In turning his life around, he started a new company, Your Business Angels, to help small business owners recover from critical debt and management issues. He then went on to create Fresh Numbers to help small business owners maintain their tax compliance and move forward in the business.

His passion further led to How Not To Commit Business Suicide, a handbook on how to save your business. His sometimes controversial advice includes:
